Rules of Engagement

Monday, June 28th, 2010

William Osborn, the father of one of our fallen hero’s in Afghanistan, appeared on FOX News this morning speaking of this Administration’s Rules of Engagement that our troops have been living with for the last year. His son lost his life because he and his brothers in arms had to wait for permission to return fire.
This sounds oddly familiar to Vietnam, where our military was so tied down by political rules that we eventually had to leave the country to the North. Why do we never learn the lessons of mistakes so continually repeat them?
War should never be considered lightly, and should have no other goal than to win in the most expedient manner allowed under the Convention of War and then return our troops home.
When our civilian leadership decides that we have no other choice but to engage in war, then they should be ready to commit the full resources of the U.S. in the prosecution of that war, place competent leaders of our military in charge and SUPPORT them rather than hamper them with rules that effectively tie their hands. That is shameful to allow our young men and women to die on the battlefield for a political end.

Calderon addressing joint session of Congress

President Calderon addressing Congress

I waited quite a while to post about this disgusting display of our lawmakers because quite frankly I was so angry that I couldn’t post the explicatives that were rising up every time I looked at this picture. Democrats applauding a foreign President spouting the Administration’s rhetoric about a U.S. sovereign state’s law that mirrors Federal law being Unconstitutional; encouraging racial profiling, etc. was just so damning.

Talk about the Pot calling the Kettle black! Has anyone ever bothered to find out what happens to illegals in Mexico, (not that anyone would want to be an illegal immigrant in Mexico). Foreigners in Mexico are required to carry proper ID including proof that they are in the country legally. What happens if you can’t prove it, you are put in JAIL. Then if you are very lucky, they will just deport you. You want to talk about racial profiling, there is no such thing as freedom as we know it. There is no limit on when, where and how you are accosted by the authorities in Mexico. You can be asked for your ID at any time, period.

Mr. Calderon does have an ulterior motive to shoot down this law. The plain fact is that illegals send millions if not billions of dollars back home to Mexico. Why do you think that Mexico’s economy has survived this long. It certainly isn’t NAFTA. It is all of the money being funneled back across the border and spent in Mexico that sustains them. If I were Calderon, I would want to see this law fail but to come to the US and in a Joint session of Congress and outright lie about it as the Administration and our Congress have done is beyond the pale.

Every one of these spineless shrews needs to be removed from office.

Private meeting at The White House

Monday, June 21st, 2010

The latest flare up of Politics erupted today between Mr. Obama and Senator Kyl! Can you imagine having a conversation over immigration and securing U.S. borders, only to find that it is being politicized. The deal is this, the administration doesn’t want to heed the people’s calls for securing the borders because they are afraid that politicians won’t have any inclination to pass sweeping immigration reform.

Just a few weeks ago, most of the Republican leadership called on the President to first secure the borders according to the vast majority of the American people and then they would work in a bipartisan manner to fix immigration. Apparently the anointed one doesn’t even believe the leadership even when they make the promise in public. In the meanwhile, Arizona along with several states are suffering because of the government’s refusal to enforce the law. Is it any wonder that the states are taking the matters into their own hands.

Pelosi Stomps Constitution

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Yesterday Madam Speaker reached out to Catholic Cardinals and Bishops and instructed them to tell their Congregations that they should support Immigration reform. Who the hell does she think she is? What happened to the separation of Church and State? While technically, she has not violated the Constitution, she is on that “slippery slope” that the Administration keeps talking about. The Constitutional Muster may give her a pass because there has been no laws passed but here is one of the most powerful politicians in our Country lecturing the clergy about Public Policy under consideration in Congress. Her conduct is outrageous and deserves Censure by the House of Representatives.

545 vs 300,000,000

Charlie Reese545 PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese

Politicians, as I have often said, are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Everything on the Republican contract is a problem created by Congress. Too much bureaucracy? Blame Congress. Too many rules?
Blame Congress. Unjust tax laws? Congress wrote them. Out-of-control bureaucracy? Congress authorizes everything bureaucracies do. Americans dying in Third World rat holes on stupid U.N. missions? Congress allows it. The annual deficits? Congress votes for them. The $4 trillion plus debt? Congress created it. To put it into perspective just remember that 100 percent of the power of
the federal government comes from the U.S. Constitution. If it’s not in the Constitution, it’s not authorized. Then read your Constitution. All 100 percent of the power of the federal government is invested solely in 545 individual human beings. That’s all.
Of 260 million Americans, only 545 of them wield 100 percent of the power of the federal government. That’s 435 members of the U.S. House, 100 senators, one president and nine Supreme Court justices. Anything involving government that is wrong is 100 percent their fault.

I exclude the vice president because constitutionally he has no power except to preside over the Senate and to vote only in the case of a tie. I exclude the Federal Reserve because Congress created it and all its power is power Congress delegated to it and could withdraw anytime it chooses to do so. In fact, all the power exercised by the 3 million or so other federal employees is power delegated from the 545. All bureaucracies are created by Congress or by executive order of the president. All are financed and staffed by Congress. All enforce laws passed by Congress. All operate under procedures authorized by Congress. That’s why all
complaints and protests should be properly directed at Congress, not at the individual agencies. You don’t like the IRS? Go see Congress. You think the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms agency is running amok? Go see Congress.

Congress is the originator of all government problems and is also the only remedy available. That’s why, of course, politicians go to such extraordinary lengths and employ world-class sophistry to make you think they are not responsible. Anytime a congressman pretends to be outraged by something a federal bureaucrat does, he is in fact engaging in one big massive con job. No federal employee can act at all except to enforce laws passed by Congress and to employ procedures authorized by Congress either explicitly or implicitly.

Partisans on both sides like to blame presidents for deficits, but all deficits are congressional deficits. The president may, by custom,
recommend a budget, but it carries no legal weight. Only Congress is authorized by the Constitution to authorize and appropriate and to levy taxes. That’s what the federal budget consists of: expenditures authorized, funds appropriated and taxes levied. Both Democrats and Republicans mislead the public. For 40 years Democrats had majorities and could have at any time balanced the
budget if they had chosen to do so. Republicans now have majorities and could, if they choose, pass a balanced budget this year. Every president, Democrat or Republican, could have vetoed appropriations bills that did not make up a balanced budget. Every president could have recommended a balanced budget. None has done either. We have annual deficits and a huge federal debt because that’s what majorities in Congress and presidents in the White House wanted. We have troops in various Third World rat holes because Congress and the president want them there. Don’t be conned. Don’t let them escape responsibility. We simply have to sort through 260 million people until we find 545 who will act responsibly.

Charlie Reese is a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper. This article was written in 1995 and published in that fine newspaper. I ask you, my readers, what has changed in 15 years? The answer is only the names of SOME of the politicians, the population of the United States, the rat holes have new names, Iraq and Afghanistan, and the TAX and SPEND have soared exponentially.

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY? Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. What in the hell happened? Can you say politicians?

Town Hall Catalyst for Electorate

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Over the last several days, Town Halls across the nation have been subjected to demonstrations that have in a few instances, degenerated to violence. Democrats and Republicans are now crying foul as they play the blame game. The Democratic Leadership accusing the Republican Leadership of a coordinated conservative attack and Republicans denying any knowledge!

BAAAAHHHH! BAAAAHHHH! The sheep aren’t smart enough to coordinate their own grass roots efforts. Both sides seem hell bent on ignoring the literally hundreds of grass roots groups springing forth all over this country. These groups are a mix of many different points of view. Most are neither far left or right but ALL carry a common theme, “We are tired of not being heard! We are alarmed that substantial legislation is being passed into law in the Congress that no one has had the opportunity to read and consider! We are sick of being ignored while our children’s inheritance is being squandered away.”

A Washington newspaper article with a Democratic slant tells the story of activist on the move. Loosely organized protesters intent on keeping heat on Obama health plans The article articulates the two party’s positions on the subject but ignores the third and most probable explanation. People are fed up with their government treating them like little children and are fighting back. People are frustrated and unfortunately this is spilling over to violent confrontations! When you have people chanting “Hear our voice!” and “Read the Bill”, it should send a clear message to lawmakers!

While Healthcare is a contentious subject, I personally feel that this has less to do with healthcare and more to do with the timing of the Town Halls themselves. This is the first opportunity that people have had to assemble and directly interact with their lawmakers and to vent their frustration over being ignored. When you call your Congressmen; Write your Congressman; or visit the office and you see no response, the last resort is to start demonstrating! This was evident earlier this year at Tea Party events across the nation. Since that time, several hundred more groups have started organizing!

Lawmakers need to get the message and start being responsible to their bosses, THE ELECTORATE!!! If they won’t, then 2010 and 2012 will be years to remember for many lawmakers.

Worth another look! Should be prime material for 2012.

Remember this video from Mouthpeace back in September 2008. It is a very nicely done video on how and who was responsible for the collapse of the economy. These are same folks that are in denial and in charge of getting America out of the mess that we are in. I want everyone to remember this video on election day 2012 if we make it that long.

Rush Limbaugh Nails the “Fairness Doctrine” in an Op-Ed “Letter to the President” in the WSJ

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

A big H/T to the controversial Mr. Rush Limbaugh for his letter to the One. Rush stated in one letter by accident, what the entire Congress of these United States failed to do for the entire debate over the “porkulus package” and managed to totally debunk the fairness doctrine at the same time.
The letter reveals the rule for what it really is, a totally worthless point of control that does nothing but STOMP on the First Amendment, SMOTHER free enterprise with more regulation and possible liability and generally insults the intelligence of every American.
The letter continues with a few lessons that our Congress could really use. The American Public at Large is neither stupid nor helpless. A well informed public is the backbone of Liberty and the enemy of tyranny. It really makes me wonder which side our Politicians are on?
